More Victorians will have a place to call home thanks to the state government’s investment in social housing, with construction now underway to deliver 39 new houses in Ballarat and Horsham.
Minister for Housing Richard Wynne has the construction site of 14 new homes being built in Ballarat under a $5.8 million project, with a government investment of $4.5 million.
The Ballarat development will have a mixture of two, three and four-bedroom homes, and is expected to provide homes for 44 people, while also creating 52 local jobs.
The Horsham development of 25 new homes is an $8.1 million project, with a government investment of $6.3 million, that will provide a mixture of one and two-bedroom homes. The project will also create 72 local jobs.
Both the Ballarat and Horsham projects now underway are being built in partnership with Haven; Home, Safe, a community housing organisation that will manage the tenancies when complete.
