Dan Murphy’s application for a packaged liquor licence at 63 Central Springs Road, Daylesford has been granted.

Liquor Control Victoria received more than 200 objections to the licence. They included the proximity to a kindergarten, primary school, swimming pool and residential properties.

There were also concerns about the potential for alcohol-related harms such as anti-social behaviour, violence and vandalism, and limited police and community welfare resources to address these harms.

Senior Licensing Officer Stephen Emmett said if liquor licence applications were to be refused on the basis there was a presence of risk factors “no further liquor licences would be granted”.
