Local woman who are interested in running for local government next year are being invited to apply now for a Women Leading Locally Fellowship.

The fellowship provides women with the skills and support they need to enter local government.

Applications close on Friday 14 April with a total 65 fellowships will be offered in 2023.

The purpose of the fellowship is to assist women to stand for election in the 32 priority local government areas in October 2024.

Applications open at 9am AEST on 6th March 2023 and close at 5pm AEST on 14th April 2023. No extensions will be granted.

The “Community Leader Fellowship” is a program of Masterclasses and mentoring to support women with the skills and networks to run a successful campaign for local government election. The “Certificate in Community Leadership and Governance (Local Government)” will be awarded to those who have attended the compulsory elements of the program and any preparation for sessions which has been required to gain certification. The certificate recognises the skills developed in the program, which can be applied in many areas of community leadership.
