This year, Bendigo Library will again host a Welcome to Country and Smoking ceremony by Elders from the Dja Dja Wurrung. To be followed by two movie screenings and various craft activities.

National Reconciliation Week (27 May-3 June) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

The 2023 theme is “Be a voice for generations”, and it encourages all Australians to be a voice for reconciliation in tangible ways in our everyday lives.

This year, Bendigo Library will again host a Welcome to Country and Smoking ceremony by Elders from the Dja Dja Wurrung. To be followed by two movie screenings and various craft activities. And art critic, academic, and researcher Tyson Yunkaporta will join participants online to discuss his book Sand Talk: How Indigenous thinking can save the world.

The library says everyone is welcome to join them for this thought-provoking session.
