Hit & Giggle Pickle Ball has become a popular sport in Daylesford on a Sunday.

Recently there were participants from the age of 11 right through to 70+, with lots of smiles and great attitudes.

A dynamic, hybrid sport, Pickleball combines features from both badminton and tennis.

Using a plastic ball and paddles, it’s played on a smaller court with a lowered net and is designed for two or four players.

Using a paddle and plastic “wiffle” ball, played on a hard surface indoors or outdoors, the game is a combination of tactical shots, patience, and easy to learn strokes, which encourages an inclusive play environment with no need for modifications or adaptations to cater for gender, ability, or age differences.

Daylesford Neighbourhood Centre is supporting the sport at the Daylesford College ARC with participants invited to meet at 11am.
