The Hepburn Shire Council has resolved to pause the Glenlyon Recreation Reserve Masterplan project that addresses the location of the pavilion at the reserve.

It has also identified the first step in designing the renovation or replacement of the pavilion as being to assess the suitability of the site in case of bushfire.

The council now plans to establish a Project Advisory Group to assist with the investigation of alternate location options.

The PAG will consider whether a pavilion should be built at an alternate site at all, and will consider the potential for minor renovations to the existing pavilion, taking into account heritage values and key uses of the popular local reserve.
