Advice messages are currently in place for communities in Newlyn, Newlyn North, Dean, Springmount, Clarkes Hill and Wattle Flat.

The Creswick-Dean Road between Melbourne Road and Ballarat-Daylesford Road and the Melbourne Road between Creswick-Dean Road and Howards Road remain closed after fire broke out in bushland on the outskirts of the township late yesterday afternoon.

Forest Fire Management Victoria is advising people to stay informed, monitor conditions and avoid the area. Firefighting vehicles and machinery will be moving around the area.

A relief centre is open at Doug Lindsay Reserve in Creswick.
