September 16th, 2026Levelling the playing field for young athletes
The Victorian Government is helping families with cost-of-living pressures and getting kids active with a new round of the Get Active Kids Voucher program.
Thousands more Get Active Kids Vouchers are now available for children to help reduce the cost barrier for Macedon kids to participate in sport.
Since launching in 2020, more than 270,000 vouchers have been snapped up by families to help cover the costs of sporting memberships, registration fees, uniforms and equipment.
Eligible families can apply for vouchers of up to $200 per child across more than 70 sport and recreation activities, from AFL to water polo.
That means more sports options for Macedon families, helping our young athletes follow their passion.
More than half of families that received vouchers in Round 10 said their kids would not have been able to participate without these vouchers.
Labor is levelling the playing field, with more than $155 million invested in supporting community sport participation since 2014, on top of $2.4 billion invested in community sport infrastructure.
A special consideration stream is also available to support children in care, temporary or provisional visa holders, migrants and international students.
It’s an investment in Macedon because we know sport connects communities and builds champions.
Applications for the current round close 13 October 2026, or until the voucher allocation is exhausted.
