Live classical music back in Daylesford with benefit concert for wildlife

November 14, 2021 - 1:00 pm to 2:30 pmLive classical music back in Daylesford with benefit concert for wildlife

Live (classical) music is back in town with a fabulous benefit concert for our local wildlife at the Convent Gallery, on Sunday November 14, 1pm, which will be a repeat of the sold-out Friday night concert. Jack Schiller, principal bassoon with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, will delight us with a quirky, new work of Australian music for solo bassoon, “The Song of the Wombat”, that captures the comic and playful character of a young wombat.

Jack will be joined by the Zephyr String Ensemble (pictured), which includes exciting young, professional musicians Emma Hunt (violin), Katie Yap (viola) and Anna Pokorny (cello), all members of the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, whose ever-popular Feast of Music tragically had to be cancelled again this year. The concert program will include works by composers such as Mozart, Corelli, Hildegard of Bingen and Francois Devienne as well as a couple of traditional pieces.

Tickets are essential, as is proof of x2 vax: https://www.trybooking.com/BTGNA. Info: 0478 622428 or djs@oceanbooks.com.au
