August 14th, 2024Appeal for witnesses to fatal collision in Lucas

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are continuing to investigate a fatal collision in Lucas, Ballarat on Saturday, August 10.
It’s believed a silver Mazda sedan collided with a white Toyota Prado on Carngham Road near Finchs Road just after 7pm.
A passenger from the Mazda, a 6-year-old Winter Valley child, died at the scene.
A second passenger from the Mazda, a 13-year-old Winter Valley child, was airlifted to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Mazda, a 41-year-old Winter Valley woman, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver and sole occupant of the Toyota, a 78-year-old Haddon man, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.

Police are appealing to the public for information or recorded footage in the wake of a fatal collision that happend at Kangaroo Flat, Bendigo, on Sunday (May 5).
It’s believed a ute and a motorcycle collided on High Street just after 4.30pm, causing the motorcycle to burst into flames.
The rider of the motorcycle died at the scene. The driver of the ute sustained non-life-threatening injuries and had been taken to hospital under police guard.

Police are calling for anyone who witnessed a fatal collision at Eaglehawk to come forward as they continue to investigate the incident that occurred on Saturday evening.
It is believed that a car and a motorcycle collided near the intersection of Victoria Street and Averys Road at Eaglehawk, Bendigo, about 10.30pm on Saturday April 6.
The driver of the car and the solo rider, who had both yet-to-be formally identified as at the time of the most recent police report issued, had died at the scene.
