February 19th, 2025Fatal house fire in Maryborough: public urged to come forward

Police are keen to hear from anyone with information relating to a fatal house fire that occurred in Maryborough last week.

Emergency services were called to reports of the fire at a residential property on Barr Street about 11.45am last Thursday February 13.

The fire was contained to the single-storey house where a male occupant died at the scene.

Two women, in their 30s and 60s, along with a 3-year-old child were treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.

A 2-year-old child was airlifted to hospital in a serious condition.

A crime scene had been established and an arson chemist had attended the scene with the investigation remaining ongoing.
