The Hepburn Shire Council is reminding residents not to dispose of e-waste in their kerbside general waste bins.

The reminder, contained in the coucncil’s new online sustainability newsletter, comes after the Daylesford Transfer Station tip shop recently began selling electronics in a move aimed at keeping e-waste items out of landfill and combatting problem dumping.

“E-waste is the fastest growing waste stream and must not be disposed of in the kerbside general waste bin,” council staff have attempted to remind locals in their new e-newsletter.

The Daylesford e-waste recovery pilot tests and tags re-usable electronic items. It has been popular with the community and has already diverted over 150 items.
