The Hepburn Shire Council has achieved a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions over the last financial year.

The council’s emissions were down 18%, which equals 161 tonnes of carbon dioxide, the council has reported earlier this week.

All of the council’s power is now renewable, while it is also prioritising electrification of its facilities and fleet.

Compared to the baseline year of 2021, the council has managed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 42%.
