October 21st, 2026Zak returns from WorldSkills International
Zak Resuggan has just returned from the WorldSkills International Competition in Shanghai, where he cooked for Australia.

The WorldSkills are the world championships for young tradespeople. Zak, who served his apprenticeship at Daylesford’s Bistro Terroir, finished 14th.
It was Australia’s largest-ever WorldSkills delegation with 37 Skillaroos competing in Shanghai, supported by 34 experts who have overseen their training and preparation.
WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, held from September 22 to 27, brought together more than 1400 competitors from over 70 countries and regions across 64 skill areas.
For Australia’s apprentices, trainees and students, it is the pinnacle of vocational education and training (VET) – a chance to test themselves against the best young talent in the world, from traditional trades to advanced technology, and to put Australian skills training on a global stage.
