Renowned Indian slide guitarist Manish Pingle is preparing to bring his virtuosic playing to Hepburn Spring later this month.
Manish is a virtuoso Mohan veena (Indian slide guitar) noted far and wide for his traditional Indian ragas and folk tunes
He is getting set to bring his talents to The Palais, Hepburn for an evening of live Indian classical music, coming up Saturday, February 18.
Manish began his tutelage under the late Shri Vishnu Waliwadekar, and is now one of the senior disciples of Ustad Shahid Paravez, the famous sitar maestro of Itawa gharana.
For this month’s show at the Palais he will be playing a selection of traditional Indian ragas as well as some folk tunes accompanied by the Melbourne-based tabla player Ravi Madhawan.
