Australia’s first satellite to mobile texting service now lands on iPhones.

Following the launch of Telstra Satellite Messaging on Tuesday (initially rolled out to Samsung Galaxy S25 series family) – Australia’s first satellite to mobile text messaging service – over 100,000 text messages have been sent or received using Telstra Satellite Messaging.  

Telstra Satellite Messaging is available to eligible iPhone users! Customers with an iPhone 13, 14, 15 or 16 (all models) on an eligible plan can now send and receive text messages via satellite from some of the most remote corners of the country.

To get started, iPhone users need to ensure their device has the latest software update.
