January 9th, 2025Boy found deceased in river, Cobbannah

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner following the death of a boy in Cobbannah late last week.

Emergency services were called to a camp site off Angusvale Track about 11.50am on Friday, January 3, after reports the boy had been seen in the river around 11.20am that morning, but had not been seen since.

A search was conducted and the boy was located deceased in the water about 2.50pm on Friday afternoon.

The investigation into the incident remained ongoing as at the most recent Victoria Police report.
