Police have appealed to anyone with information to come forward following a brazen smash and grab burglary at a North Ballarat supermarket last week.

It’s understood that four offenders were involved and a quantity of cigarettes and alcohol were stolen in the early morning burglary at the IGA Northway supermarket on Ballarat’s Doveton Street.

Police say four offenders smashed their way into the supermarket at about 5.20am on Monday, August 5, and helped themselves to cigarettes and alcohol before fleeing the scene in a white SUV.

On attending, police had found the front door broken and the store’s cigarette cabinet had been broken into, leaving the store’s owners and managers counting the cost of the brazen act.
