Cafs needs your help this Christmas

November 10th, 2022Cafs needs your help this Christmas

This Christmas the need for support across the Central Highlands has never been greater and Cafs (Child and Family Services) is working harder than ever to support families in need.

This Christmas the need for support has never been greater and Cafs (Child and Family Services) is working harder than ever to offer regional families a solution to the pressure that the season brings to bear on family finances.

“As a uniquely local organisation we recognise that families in our community have widely varying needs”, said Cafs CEO, Wendy Sturgess. “We believe that we have managed to secure sufficient physical gifts for children across our programs, however, we urgently require gift vouchers that can be used to purchase groceries or gifts by families that are experiencing hardship.”

This year Cafs will be helping over 600 children and their families currently accessing support through the organisations Family Support, Youth Care, Housing & Homelessness and Client Engagement Teams.

In addition, to offer some respite to Cafs extensive Foster, Kinship and Residential Youth Care participants, the organisation is collaborating with the award-winning team at Cave Hill Creek to deliver an unforgettable family experience this Christmas. Cafs Carer Family Day is an opportunity for 150 guests to participate in fun filled day of outdoor experiences and a family lunch at Cave Hill Creek’s Beaufort camp venue.

Gift vouchers can be sent to Cafs Christmas Appeal, 115 Lydiard St Nth, Ballarat, 3305. Monetary donations can be made in person or via the website at www.cafs.org.au. Donations over $2 are tax deductible.
