Community invited to walk against gender-based violence

The event is being held as part of the international 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign.

Held each year between November 25 and December 10, the 16 Days of Activism campaign raises awareness of the impact of violence against women and gender-diverse people and encourages communities to take action to prevent violence before it occurs.

Starting at 10.30am from Walters Café, the Daylesford walk will follow the accessible track around part of Lake Daylesford before returning to the café for coffee and conversation. The event provides an opportunity for community members to come together, reflect on the impact of gender-based violence, learn about local support services and demonstrate a shared commitment to creating safer, more respectful communities.

Organisers are encouraging participants to wear orange, the colour of the international campaign to end violence against women, and to bring colourful signs and banners showing their support. Dogs on leads are welcome, and the walking track is wheelchair accessible. Wheelchairs are available on request from Daylesford Town Hall. Everyone is welcome to attend, whether they are walking in solidarity with victim-survivors, supporting loved ones, or showing their commitment to a future free from violence.

Event Details: • When: Friday, 27 November 2026 • Time: 10.30am • Where: Walters Café, 1 Leggatt Street, Daylesford Together, we can stand against gender-based violence and help create a safer future for all.
