Tenzin Choegyal’s cantering rhythms, soaring vocals and exquisite flute solos have enchanted audiences around the globe. At the same time, he effortlessly embraces diverse genres and musical styles, bringing Tibetan music firmly into the contemporary world. He collaborates with artists from all streams of music including major works for stage and film with Philip Glass and his Grammy-nominated album Songs from the Bardo with Laurie Anderson.
Tenzin is a master of traditional Tibetan instruments the lingbu (bamboo flute) and dranyen (3-stringed lute), but is best known for his extraordinary vocal ability.
Tenzin delights new audiences and loyal fans alike with his powerful vocals, sublime flute pieces, sacred poetry and playful folk tunes. His message is uplifting and his obvious joyfulness is infectious.

October 21, 2023 - 8:00 am to 5:00 pmCreswick Community Garage Sales ’23
Following a 3-year hiatus, Creswick’s beloved Community Garage Sales are back! Householders will open their garages and spread their secondhand goods across lawns and driveways. The garage sales event was last held in 2019, so you can imagine how much stuff we have been hoarding (sorry, collecting!) in the intervening years. The list of goods for sale is endless: clothing and children’s toys; workshop tools and camping gear; plants, seedlings, pots and garden tools; sewing machines, fabric, mirrors, tiles and renovation materials. You name it, you’ll find it at Creswick Community Garage Sales 2023.
Creswick Community Garage Sales are an annual fundraising event for Creswick Aquatic Centre campaign. The need for year-round access to aquatics provision was identified as part of Hepburn Shire Council’s Aquatic Strategy. Creswick is a growth area, with young families and healthy retirees choosing a regional lifestyle where they have access to all the city facilities, such as a choice of schools, modern medical centres and outdoor sports facilities. But Creswick has no swimming pool. School students are bussed to Ballarat for two weeks’ swimming lessons each year. People seeking warm water rehabilitation have to make the round trip to Ballarat or Daylesford, negating the benefits of hydrotherapy treatment. The campaign for an indoor swimming pool and hydrotherapy facility in Creswick has a long history. Fundraising through registration fees and map sales on Creswick Community Garage Sales day is part of that story.
This year, we are proud to partner with Biggin Scott and Creswick Market in our first-ever market garage sales. Secondhand goods sellers will be in a designated area of Creswick Market, enabling visitors to buy everything they need in one place! As well as the usual fresh produce, handcrafts, hot food and coffee, buyers can grab a bargain from the garage sales stalls.
Maps with addresses and directions to all participating garage sales can be obtained from 8am at Creswick Bandstand, Flemo’s North Creswick Milkbar and from 10am at Creswick Information Centre. Maps cost $5 and all proceeds go to the Creswick Aquatic Centre Inc. campaign for an indoor heated pool.

Little heard music from the Court of Versailles, played on the baroque musette, the smallest, rarest, and most charming member of the bagpipe family.
Laura Vaughan and Simon Rickard are two of Australia’s leading exponents of baroque music. They share a particular love for the French baroque, and for weird and wonderful historical instruments – the more exotic the better. The baroque musette has only been played in Australia twice before (by Simon) – once in Sydney and once in Melbourne. So this is a Daylesford exclusive!

June 24, 2023 - 8:00 pm to 11:00 pmÁine Tyrrell @ Palais-Hepburn- Áine Tyrrell – Irish as F*ck Tour
Áine Tyrrell is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, activist, and mother hailing from a lineage of music. Her artistry cannot be confined to a single genre, as she rejects the limitations imposed by the music industry’s narrow definition of Irish Folk. Instead, she is redefining her rise through her unique genre, ‘Irish as Fuck,’ blending spoken word, hip hop, acoustic guitars, and powerful vocals. Her music is a reflection of the brave new world we are entering, one that is post-genre, post-pandemic, post-colonial, and post-traumatic. As a live act, Áine Tyrrell is inspiring, thought-provoking, and unmissable.
