Macedon Ranges Shire Council is reviewing its Nature Strip Landscaping Policy and seeking your feedback.

Macedon Ranges Shire Council is reviewing its Nature Strip Landscaping Policy and seeking your feedback.

The policy outlines what can be done to enhance nature strips in the shire. It includes guidelines for residents keen to explore alternate options to traditional grassed nature strips.
Council’s Director Assets and Operations, Shane Walden said the policy and guidelines were developed in consultation with the community in 2019.
“Two years down the track we’re keen to find out what’s working, and identify any areas for improvement.
“It’s important that we strike the right balance between adding to the appearance of streetscapes throughout the shire, and ensuring that any designs or treatments are safe for pedestrians and don’t damage our drainage network and essential services such as gas and water infrastructure,” he said.
