WE TAKE on board and acknowledge what the community is saying to us about our performance and direction of council.

WE TAKE on board and acknowledge what the community is saying to us about our performance and direction of council. We don’t shy away from that the fact that we can do better. We clearly have to take note of the fact our overall performance has dropped significantly, particularly in some specific areas.

“Examination of the survey results over many years shows that the results fluctuate significantly year on year, which is driven by events happening at the time of the survey. Overall Performance was rated at 47 in 2012, climbing to its highest ever rating of 56 last year. This year we have seen a significant decrease from last year with council Overall Performance dropping to 45.

“The community will be able to have input into the direction of council through the development of a new Council Plan after the upcoming local government election.

“The community will also be able to have input into how council engages with the community through the development of a new Community Engagement Policy, which is requited to be developed by March next year.

“We are an organisation that has invested heavily over the past two years in resourcing under-resourced areas of council, which will help deliver important projects and services for the community.  We have a committed team of staff who pride themselves on the services they deliver for the community.”
