Keen garden-lovers helped raise more than $10,000 for the Phoenix@The Rex community theatre.
They revelled in garden tours of Musk Manor and Musk Farm as a fund raiser for the cinema sound and projection equipment, taking 12 separate trips from Daylesford on the vintage Spa Country Railway.
Wandering the gardens with a glass of wine added to the day for many guests, with tastings from neighbouring Passing Clouds winery and the Heathcote Lake Cooper Estate.
The new cinema as portrayed on The Block is in the dress circle of the revamped Rex building. The urgent need now is for the Hepburn Shire Council to believe that the community wants it to spend just 3 percent ($50.000) of its $2.1m reserve fund on the cinema’s equipment.
