The Board chair of Grampians Health Bill Brown has resigned in recent days amid public media reports of budget blowouts and healthcare shortfalls beleaguering the service.

Grampians Health has campuses at Ballarat (the Ballarat Base Hospital which is currently undergoing major redevelopment), Dimboola, Stawell, Edenhope and Horsham.

Following Mr Brown’s low-key resignation in recent days, former Liberal MP Rob Knowles has been brought in as interim chair of the board while the Health Department searches for a permanent replacement.

The Department  has been tight-lipped about the circumstances of Mr Brown’s departure with a Department spokesperson reported as stating:”The proper processes have been followed in the temporary recruitment of the interim chair”.
