March 30th, 2020Jam-packed season for Daylesford Lawn Tennis Club

Even though the season ended early, the club was lucky to get the junior club championships played on a beautiful sunny day made for tennis. The results of the nine sections played were:

Anna Santurini did a great job in leading a group of keen Hot Shot beginners on Saturdays. Unfortunately the presentation morning was cancelled so many thanks here to Anna, junior tennis organisers, parent helpers, barbeque chefs and Albert Street Butchery for their part in a successful junior season.

A new Tennis Victoria initiative on Monday evenings, Open Court Tennis, for adult beginners or people who haven’t played for years, generated lots of interest. As one participant said: “I haven’t used a tennis racket for 25 years and this has been the most fantastic opportunity to reconnect with a game I really love to play. “

The club thanks all the event organisers and volunteers led by Pete Risstrom who keep the courts in fantastic condition.
