Days are speedily
getting shorter

day by day.

Autumn is here.
Days are speedily
getting shorter
and shorter
day by day.
The earth is spinning
fast, they say
and on its journey
around the sun
it travels even faster.
It doesn’t to us
seem in any hurry
at all. A day can
be a long time
and a year feel
like an age.
Summers are long,
winters longer.
But giving us a taste
of the fastness of space,
autumn just disappears
in a flash.
