Moon Magic

Since the dawn of man,

The moon in all her stealth and glory,

Fills our darkened skies,

No envy, no malice,

Just a penitent sadness for our frailty and humanity,

So often seething with pain and strife,

That darkens our days and nights and lives,

Yes, COVID-19 or coronavirus,

And many other pestilences before this,

Have stifled and snuffed out lives,

Some in their prime,

North, South, East and West

– In the far-flung corners of the Earth,

She sees it all,

Her misty teardrops,

Fall upon our fevered brows,

Her light like a calming mantle,

Helps us through our darkened nights,

Her peace cannot be shaken,

Nor her glory taken,

For the Creator has planned it thus.

Silently she rotates in her orbit,

Bringing us seasons of plenty and seasons of lack of poverty and pain,

Yet she brightens our paths through life and death,

Till time stands still.
