March 15th, 2024Man charged after string of electric bike and scooter thefts

Geelong Divisional Response Unit detectives have charged a man after a series of alleged electricbike and scooter thefts in Ocean Grove over the past two months.
Investigators had been told e-bikes and e-scooters were being stolen from caravan parks and public places in the Ocean Grove area throughout January and February.
Following an extensive investigation, detectives arrested a 26-year-old man of no fixed place of abode and a 26-year-old Clifton Springs woman.
The man was charged with 10 counts of theft and other associated offences. He had been remanded to face Geelong Magistrates’ Court last week.
The woman was released pending further enquiries. Investigations into the incidents remained ongoing.
