Kyneton Town Hall has had a few practice swings, in preparation for its re-opening after two years of
closures, but this May it will really come alive, with a ‘Month of Madness’ – a packed program of
quality comedy, theatre and music to delight.
It all kicks off on Friday 6 May with a celebration of what lies ahead. The ‘Month of Madness’ mini
launch will include a Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country, an introduction to the program on
offer, complimentary finger-food on arrival, drinks at bar prices and light entertainment with The
Sounds of Silent playing live accompaniment to short Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin movies.
Tickets purchased on the night will also receive a 15% discount (please note some exclusions apply)!
Whether you prefer the rollicking roadshow of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, or the
technological comic mayhem of Game Boys Cinematic Universe, the dulcet tones of Queenie van de
Zandt singing Joni Mitchell’s renowned album Blue, or the smooth melodies and insightful stories of
Kutcha Edwards in Circling Time – there is bound to be something to tantalise your tastebuds.
Director of Community, Maria Weiss confirmed it’s an event not to be missed.
“It is going to be one jam-packed month at Kyneton Town Hall this May, and we are so excited to
celebrate with a mini-launch for everyone who has missed live theatre and entertainment.”
“We’ve missed holding these events as much as people have missed coming to them,” she said.
Macedon Ranges Shire Mayor, Cr Jennifer Anderson, further encouraged locals and visitors to make
the most of the ‘Month of Madness’ events as well as the discounts on offer at the Friday 6 May
launch.
“It’s fantastic to see many performers coming back to Kyneton Town Hall. Some of these performers
haven’t been able to do what they do best for some time, so please support them and treat yourselves
to a night of live theatre!”
“There are plenty of exciting shows to choose from”, she added.
The ‘Month of Madness’ mini launch will be held at 5.30pm on Friday 6 May 2022 at Kyneton Town
Hall. Bookings are recommended.
