Nigel Wearne is bringing his ‘To The Edge Tour to Creswick’s Odessa at Leavers Hotel this Saturday, December 10.
Nigel is a guitarist and multi-instrumentalist with diverse influence from Nick Cave, Tom Waits and Gillian Welch.
Nigel has toured Australia, New Zealand and Canada and he’s performed at a long list of music festivals, including the Port Fairy Folk Festival, Adelaide Guitar Festival and Queenscliff Music Festival. His sophomore album, ‘Black Crow’ garnered wide critical acclaim including a 4-STAR review in Rolling Stone, a nomination for Best Country Album at the Music Victoria Awards and debuted at #1 on the AMRAP Charts.
His latest single ‘To The Edge’ is a duet featuring award-winning UK songstress, Lauren Housley. Ominous, poignant and mysterious; it’s a potent lament of fate gone wrong. Morricone-esque horns tug at the heartstrings; a soulful, minor-key slow-burn that skirts the fringes of jazz and 60s rock ‘n’ roll.
