April 21st, 2026On the job – Old ways, work & chores exhibition
On the job – Old ways, work & chores is on exhibition at the Daylesford Museum, 100 Vincent Street until Saturday, May 30.

Museum curator Gary Lawrence said the exhibition was an opportunity for residents and visitors to wander through this exhibition of artefacts, images and information.
“It will prompt your memories of older generations, perhaps grandma and grandpa. How much simpler and quicker are many domestic tasks as compared to decades ago.
“Women seemed tied to a routine, washing on Monday, ironing on Tuesday etc and always cooking. The men were often working on the farm. Work was very physical, demanding and conducted in unhealthy or dangerous conditions.”
The museum is open Saturdays from 11am to 3pm. Adults $5, children free.
