Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a car crash in Meredith last Monday afternoon.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a car crash in Meredith last Monday afternoon.

It is understood a stolen white Nissan Patrol utility was travelling northwest on the Midland Highway, between Meredith and Elaine, when it crashed into trees near Doyles Road about 2.15pm on Monday, November 11.

The driver, a 31-year-old Delacombe man, and the passenger, a 30-year-old Armstrong man were both airlifted to hospital where they remain with life-threatening injuries.

Police are working to establish the circumstances of the crash.
