Homicide Squad detectives are investigating after a woman was located deceased in South Morang early last week.

Emergency services were called to a residential property on Reid Street about 10am.

The woman, who had yet to formally identified as at the time a police report was issued last week, was declared deceased at the scene.

The exact circumstances surrounding her death had yet to be determined and investigations remained ongoing.

Police arrested a 33-year-old South Morang man who was to be interviewed in relation to the incident.

It is believed both parties were known to each other.
