July 15th, 2024Reverse vending machine up and operating for Clunes

The Clunes Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) is now live and operating, giving locals extra reason to recycle their plastic and glass containers.

The Hepburn Shire Council snapped the above photo of Jake Weber from TOMRA Cleanaway showing Cr Tim Drylie and Cr Tessa Halliday how the CDS works, and posted it up on their social media last week.

As The Local reported earlier, the Clunes IGA supermarket is hosting the machine in partnership with state government.

It joins several CDS units now across Hepburn Shire, including those at Creswick, Daylesford and Trentham (Pig & Whistle).
