Police want to hear from anyone with information relating to a fatal crash that happened in Pootilla last week.

It is understood a driver was travelling along Ballarat-Daylesford Road when they left the roadway and crashed into a tree about 2am last Wednesday morning.

The impact forced the car to roll several times before it caught on fire.

Sadly, the female driver died at the scene.

The exact circumstances surrounding the crash were unclear and police investigations remained ongoing.
