A driver was rushed to hospital after hitting a power pole in the Ballarat suburb of Sebastopol in an early morning crash last Monday.

A driver was rushed to hospital after hitting a power pole in the Ballarat suburb of Sebastopol in an early morning crash last Monday.

The man, 23, suffered non-life-threatening injuries a Victoria Police spokesperson said.

“It is believed a blue Ford Falcon struck a power pole at the intersection of Tait and Linkage streets just after 7.30am,” they said in a statement.

“The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be determined and investigations are ongoing.”

The crash followed a “suspicious” car fire in Ballarat East the same morning.

Police said they were called to bushland near Long and Wilson Streets just after 7.30am, where a “vehicle was set alight”.

“The exact cause of the fire is not yet known, investigations remain ongoing,” the spokesperson said.

Police are appealing for information after an 87-year-old man died in hospital following a car crash in Kilmore last week.

It is believed a grey Ford Falcon collided with a tree near the intersection of Wandong Road and Northern Highway last Monday May 20 about 3.50am.

The driver, an 87-year-old Airport West man, was transported to hospital however sadly died on Tuesday, May 21.

Police were preparing a report for the coroner and anyone who witnessed the collision, with CCTV/dashcam footage or information was urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the Crime Stoppers website.

Bendigo Highway Patrol officers are appealing for public assistance following a car crash at Kangaroo Flat last week.

Bendigo Highway Patrol officers are appealing for public assistance following a car crash at Kangaroo Flat last week.

It is believed a white LDV T60 utility was travelling along Station Street near the intersection of Church Street when the driver lost control and veered off the road about 8.30am on Wednesday 10 April.

The vehicle continued down an embankment came to a rest on the nature strip next to the creek on Danson Avenue.

Police have been told a passer-by stopped and assisted the 75-year-old driver who was not seriously injured and drove him home.

Investigators are keen to speak to that passer-by or any witnesses.
