Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash that occurred in Kilmore earlier this week.
Emergency services were called to reports a car had struck a tree on Wandong Road around 3.30pm on Sunday August 11.
The driver and only occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision had yet to be determined as at the time a police report was issued on Sunday, and investigations remained ongoing.

Police are appealing for information after an 87-year-old man died in hospital following a car crash in Kilmore last week.
It is believed a grey Ford Falcon collided with a tree near the intersection of Wandong Road and Northern Highway last Monday May 20 about 3.50am.
The driver, an 87-year-old Airport West man, was transported to hospital however sadly died on Tuesday, May 21.
Police were preparing a report for the coroner and anyone who witnessed the collision, with CCTV/dashcam footage or information was urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the Crime Stoppers website.
May 30th, 2024Police seek public assistance in wake of fatal bus crash, Kilmore
Police are appealing for information from the public following the fatal bus crash in Kilmore last Wednesday.
Emergency services had attended the scene of the fatal bus crash that occurred in Kilmore last Wednesday (May 24).
It’s believed the school bus was traveling along Wandong Road just after 3.30pm when the vehicle left the road and struck a tree.
The driver, a 65-year-old Wallan man, died at the scene.
There were approximately 30 children on the bus and some had sustained minor injuries, while one had sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The exact cause of the crash was being investigated and roads in the area had been closed for some time.
