Macedon Ranges Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two people following a fire at the Malmsbury Railway Station on 31 January.

Macedon Ranges Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two people following a fire at the Malmsbury Railway Station on 31 January.

Emergency services had been called to Daylesford-Malmsbury Road about 5.45pm after reports the station master’s residence was on fire.

Crews extinguished the blaze and the fire was deemed to be suspicious.

On Sunday, February 4, detectives charged a 17-year-old Bendigo girl and 16-year-old Bendigo boy with burglary and criminal damage by fire.

Both have since been bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
