For the fourth year running, Central Highlands Water (CHW), has donated 100% of the sales of
their Choose Tap reusable stainless-steel bottles to local charity, WRISC Family Violence Support.
CHW Chair, Angeleen Jenkins has met with WRISC Business Manager, Anita Koelle and
WRISC Aboriginal Program Team Leader, Jodie Schulz, to present the donation of $10,360. The
donation was raised through bottle sales, including CHW’s new reconciliation themed Managing
Country Together design, at the 70th Ballarat Begonia Festival.
Ms Jenkins said, “We are proud to partner with WRISC. This year’s donation is CHW’s largest with
proceeds going directly to the programs that focus on support for our local Indigenous community.”
“We thank everyone in the community who visited us at the Begonia Festival and purchased a
bottle in support of this very important work,” she said.
Anita Koelle said, “WRISC is very pleased to work collaboratively with Central Highlands Water. At
WRISC, families are the focus of our work and we provide holistic services, in a culturally safe way,
to best meet the needs of the families that we support.”
WRISC is a not-for-profit organisation that provides free and confidential services for women and
children only, irrespective of disability, ethnicity, indigenous or tribal status, race, religion, or gender
identity. WRISC understands that family violence occurs across all communities and in range of
circumstances. The community can continue to support WRISC by making a donation through their
website.
CHW’s Choose Tap reusable water bottles are also available from their Learmonth Road office for
$10 each. The bottles are available in a range of styles, including the newest design featuring the
artwork of Billy-Jay O’Toole a proud Wadawurrung Traditional Owner. The featured artwork,
Managing Country Together, represents the relationship between CHW and the four registered
Aboriginal Parties on which CHW’s catchment extends, being Wadawurrung, Dja Dja Wurrung,
Wurundjeri and Barenji Gadjin.
