WORK is under way on the next Central Highlands Water Urban Water Strategy.
The strategy looks ahead to the next 50 years and includes actions to manage the future impacts of population growth, climate change and other influences on our region’s water and sewerage systems.
CHW managing director Paul O’Donohue highlighted the importance of community input in future water planning.
“As part of our future focus, we’re considering long-term water supply and demand scenarios,” Mr O’Donohue said.
“An integral part of our planning is talking to our community about how they currently use water and their understanding of the local water cycle, as well as what is important to our customers from a water and wastewater perspective.
“We’re inviting our community to provide input into this strategy via an online survey.”
The UWS Future Water Planning survey can be found at www.chw.net.au The strategy will be released in mid-2022.
