Burke Square

I have been in town since 2018 however in my time I did not see the green used except since Covid when the hotel started with the tables.

I feel that it is positive to see people using the area now. I recognise that many of these people are tourists. However our resident population largely earns a living either directly or indirectly from visitors.
People were complaining about lost parking in the Covid years with the parklets that cafe/restaurants created. I don’t hear anyone complaining about the reduced pavement width now that many businesses have continued with tables.
I expect the council to be mindful of the economic well-being of the community.
