April 29th, 2026Jobs Powering Ahead At Delburn Wind Farm
Construction is now underway at the SEC Delburn Wind Farm near the Latrobe Valley.
Around 40 workers are already on site as early works begin, with jobs to grow to 300 at the peak of construction bringing total statewide SEC jobs created to nearly 2000 since the SEC was established.
Minister Lily D’Ambrosio met with workers building Victoria’s first publicly owned wind farm, with nine local trainees and apprentices already working onsite.
SEC is working alongside delivery partners OSMI Australia, Vestas and Delta Group, a local business founded in Traralgon, supporting local workers and local businesses.
Construction is focused on site establishment, construction of compounds and facilities, access road development, plantation tree clearing and mulching, and early‑stage earthworks.
Early works also included the installation of five 130,000‑litre firefighting water tanks.
Once operational in 2028, the 33‑turbine wind farm will generate up to 205 megawatts of renewable energy, enough to power more than 130,000 homes. It will provide more than $22 million in neighbour and community benefits over its lifetime.
This will support the SEC to supply 100 percent renewable electricity to power Victoria’s public services, schools, hospitals, police stations, trains and more – including local sites like Sale College, the Morwell Police Station, the CFA, Latrobe Regional Health and more
